Based on the ancient Celtic myth of the Selkie, a creature in mythology that lives as human on land and a seal in the sea, Song of the Sea is a Cartoon Saloon animated film by Tomm Moore. It tells the story of a six year old girl named Saoirse who discovers she is a selkie after finding a magical shell that belonged to her mother. The film first premiered at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.
